If she applies for Indigent status, what happens to her if she receives this status?

Hi,
First, civil indigent status through the courts is for indigent and low income people to be able to have their filing fees waived. It is not meant for other types of assistance, such as rent. You might try contacting The Aging and Disability Resource Center, which has designated Broward County Elderly & Veterans Services as Lead Agency for services in Broward County. They may be able to point you in the right direction for assistance for rent, or possibly an assisted living facility. If the elderly woman qualifies for Medicaid, she may be eligible to enter into an Assisted Living Facility, and the costs offset through Medicaid.
