The Florida Association of Legal Document Preparers is a trade group composed of independent businesses. We are not affiliated with the government. At this time there is no formal governmental requirement to be certified as a "nonlawyer" or "legal document preparer". However, legal document preparers are officially recognized, in that there is a requirement that legal document preparers must include their name and contact information on each form which they prepare. We have academic and experience standards for membership in FALDP.
