Dear Karen, Sometimes there is a reason they use the wording they do on contracts and such. Sometimes the wording is shorthand for a larger idea that believe it or not, can be expressed more efficiently in those words that seem to make no sense at all. But, when regular people have to be able to understand the wording, the use of the "legalese" doesn't communicate the meaning. The following is a link to a page that promotes eradicating legalese:
